Brembo Brakes - as found on all top level sports & race cars
Formula 1 has always been the test bed of choice for technological innovations of the motor industry as well as its most prestigious international showcase. Brembo has notched up a remarkable 16 drivers' and 21 constructors' championships since 1975 by equipping teams from Ferrari to Red Bull and McLaren with state-of-the-art braking systems. Driving legends such as Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna and Niki Lauda have driven Brembo equipped cars.

Brembo has participated in NASCAR since 1993 when they first equipped the Melling Ford driven by PJ Jones at Watkins Glen. Brembo's first victory came in October 1996 at Phoenix, where Bobby Hamilton was first to pass the chequered flag at the wheel of the # 43 Petty Enterprise Plymouth. Over the years, many of the most important NASCAR drivers have used Brembo brakes to win numerous championships in each of the NASCAR series.

The braking system consists of Brembo front and rear modules with carbon-ceramic discs. At the front, 398mm discs work in conjunction with 6-piston monoblock calipers with 148 cm² pads. The rear wheels are braked by 360mm discs with 4-piston monoblock calipers with 77cm² pads. As a result, stopping distance from 100 Km/h is an incredible 32.5 metres.

The Corvette ZR1 was the first American car to be equipped with carbon ceramic brake discs. The braking system consists of 394mm front brake discs and Brembo 6-piston monoblock calipers, and 380mm rear brake discs with Brembo 4-piston monoblock calipers. The calipers are a distinctive blue with Corvette printed on them.

Nissan turned to Brembo to design and develop the braking system on the new GT-R. The Brembo braking system consists of 6-piston aluminium monoblock calipers at the front with 38mm x 34mm drilled floating discs and 4-piston aluminium monoblock calipers at the rear with 380mm x 30mm drilled floating discs.

Brembo equips this 517 HP 6.3 litre normally aspirated V8 beauty with front and rear brakes. The front is composed of single block 6-piston callipers with floating 390mm disks and the rear has single block 4-piston callipers with 360mm integral disks.

Brembo Big Brake Kits
Designed and tested specifically for track day enthusiasts and for drivers who demand the utmost performance from their cars, Brembo Gran Turismo big brake kits offer superlative performance for both normal driving and demanding track day sessions. The kits come with 4, 6 or 8 pot calipers, one or two piece discs, high performance pads, stainless braided brake lines and alloy mounting brackets. The one-piece discs are specially designed in the gooseneck area to minimise thermal distortion. The two-piece discs have an aluminium alloy hat to reduce unsprung weight and to reduce thermal stress.

Brembo Drilled Discs
For greater versatility and to increase their ability to withstand extreme stress, Brembo Sport brake discs are made from high-carbon cast iron for improved thermal and mechanical resistance. They also feature exclusive pillar venting technology which improves cooling capacity and increases resistance to cracking caused by thermal shock by over 40%. The unique cross-drilled or slotted finish is another exclusive Brembo feature which improves braking consistency by dissipating the heat generated and gas released as the pads come into contact with the discs, keeping the pad surface both cool and clean. All the discs of the Sport range are zinc plated which improves corrosion resistance.

Brembo HP2000 Performance Pads
Tested to the highest levels on the track with decelerations from 168mph, the HP2000 material is capable of operating in the most demanding conditions. With excellent cold performance & bite, high resistance to fade, frictional stability throughout all operating conditions, reduced pad & disc wear and low dust levels, the HP2000 friction material offers significant benefits. Brembo Sport Pads come with the same specification as the OE pad including (where applicable) wear leads or slots for separate wear leads and anti-rattle clips. Every pad has an anti-noise shim.
